Once you have captured or opened an image, you can crop or cut out sections of the image. 

 

1. Just draw a rectangle with your mouse around the area you want to cut or crop.  If you want a shape other than a rectangle, click the Edit..Select Region menu.  And select the shape you want to crop. (Rectangle, Round Rectangle, Ellipse, or Freehand). Then

click the mouse button and hold it down to start drawing your outline.  Drag your mouse to the other end of the outline and release it.

 

3. Click the 'Edit'..'Crop' command if you want to cut out everything outside of the dashed line.  Or click 'Edit'..'Cut' if you want to cut out everything inside the dashed line.
